Jack was an emergency medicine physician for 30 years. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degrees of Biology and Economics from Southern Oregon State College in Ashland. He worked as Program Manager of Human Resources for the US Forest Service in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. While in Reedsport, he worked with others in writing a grant to the Carter Administration to outfit an ambulance for Reedsport and became trained as an EMT. Jack has travelled extensively while working as an EMT in off-shore oil in Africa, India and the Middle East. On his return to the US, he earned his MD from Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland. Jack trained in Emergency Medicine at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois where he met his wife Lisa. Jack has two daughters who are also passionate about providing health care in the United States and abroad.
Dave Lloyd and Jack were best friends and practiced medicine together for 23 years. Through the David Lloyd Foundation, Jack is pleased to fulfill Dave’s request to help provide medical care in needed areas internationally. He has made three trips to Rwanda to assess Ndengera Clinic and plan for its future projects.
Brynne works as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA. Prior to her nursing career, Brynne volunteered in short-term mission trips to Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Seychelles, Hong Kong, Honduras, and Mexico.
Brynne worked alongside David Lloyd in the hospital for 5 years. In 2012, David and Brynne volunteered at the Ndengera Clinic in Giseyni, Rwanda. Her admiration for David's gift of practicing medicine grew even more as she witnessed how he provided exemplary care within the limited resources of the clinic. Brynne is inspired to continue David's passion and commitment to helping the underserved and be a part of the David Lloyd Foundation Board.
Brynne has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Point Loma Nazarene University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University. She lives in Portland with her husband and twin sons.
Dr. Todd Berinstein, MD, JD, FACS is pleased to accept a position on this board of directors. The David Lloyd Foundation board position is an outstanding opportunity to expand his commitment to helping people to better their lives in the US and abroad to obtain better, needed healthcare. Dr Berinstein is a board certified and experienced ENT (ear, nose & throat) doctor, with a special interest in diseases of the ear. He has achieved board certification by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Accademy of Otolaryngic Allergy, meaning he has met the standards for the practice of ENT Allergy and for better, whole-patient care. He is a fellow of the American College of surgeons (FACS) which illustrates his commitment to excellence and quality in surgery and healthcare. He has been working in Vancouver since leaving the US Navy in 1997, first as a solo practitioner, then joining Dr. Donald Newell at Vancouver ENT.
Dr. Berinstein obtained a bachelors degree in Psycho-Biology from UCLA, then a doctorate in medicine the University of Southern California. His first post-doctoral year internship in surgery was done at Navy Hospital San Diego, and then he served in Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 3 out of Port Hueneme, CA for a year. He returned for ENT training to the U.S. Naval Medical Center, San Diego. In 2007, he spent 6 months in an otology fellowship at the world famous Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Bionic Ear Institute, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
In 2011, after completing his degree in law at the Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College, he passed the Washington State Bar examination. He was sworn in as an officer of the court in 2012. His passion for justice and for improving the lives of all of those around him have lead to his volunteering at the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington since 1997. He is a lecturer in medicine and in law, and is an advocate for better patient care. He lives in Vancouver, Washington with his lovely wife, with whom he has been married since 1988.
Courtney is currently a cancer immunology researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated with a BA in Biology and History from Dartmouth in 2020. Courtney is very passionate about expanding healthcare quality and accessibility both in the United States and abroad.
Tim Bennington-Davis is an Engineering Leader with over 35 years experience in development of high-technology products, having served Tektronix, InFocus, VeriWave and Verizon in positions of General Manager, Director, Vice President and Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. In volunteer roles, he has served as Treasurer, Trustee, and Moderator of the Meridian United Church of Christ, and served as technical mentor of a high school robotics team since 2003. Mr. Bennington-Davis holds a BSEE from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master’s in Engineering Management from Portland State University. He and his wife Maggie have three adult children.
